Tommy Lee Jones is suing the makers of "No Country for Old Men" for $10 million dollars. Jones says he was promised "significant box-office bonuses" and claims he hasn't received any. In the lawsuit, Jones says Paramount Pictures paid a reduced upfront fee for him to be apart of the film but says the studio needs to shell out what it owes. Now.

The gunman opened fire early Friday morning after being kicked out, Riverside sheriff's officials say. The incident began after the gunman, along with four friends, was kicked out of Las Copas bar in Mira Loma for causing a disturbance. On his way out, he threatened a security guard, sheriff's officials said.

Sarah Palin is getting herself a private jet for the campaign, which seems reasonable given that she's the VP candidate for the Republican Party. It does remind you of her make-believe eBay story, but since this is privately-funded, I'll give her a pass on the hypocrisy angle (she's still a liar, though).

Over the weekend I was having a look at Disco, an open source map-reduce framework, built atop Erlang/OTP that allows users to write mapper/reducer jobs in Python. Disco does not mandate any Erlang knowledge on part of the user, who can use all the expressiveness of Python to implement map/reduce jobs.
